About this book

I was the pack’s laughingstock—bullied, rejected by my fated mate in front of everyone. But the night I turned eighteen, everything changed. I wasn’t just a wolf. I was the Golden Wolf. And the most powerful Alpha in the world just declared me his Queen. Now, let’s see who’s laughing.

Chapter 1

“Aurora, Asher, and Scarlett! Get down here this instant for breakfast! We need to finalize everything for your Turning ceremony!”

Our Luna mother, Serena Blackthorne, called up from the kitchen. Oh, right. I should probably explain. We’re triplets. Tomorrow is our eighteenth birthday.

The day we’ll find our fated mates. The night we’ll experience our first shift. At exactly 11:47 PM. The precise moment we were born.

“Triple Threat! Move it or you’ll be late for the academy!”

That was Alpha Dad, Dominic. His voice boomed through the packhouse. That’s his nickname for us when we’re dawdling and he needs all three of us immediately.

I tugged on my favorite oversized hoodie. Let me describe the so-called Triple Threat.

First, there’s Asher. The eldest by a few minutes.

He stands at six-foot-ten. He has the bronze skin from our Luna mother and the powerful, broad-shouldered frame of our Alpha father. His storm-gray eyes hold an intensity that commands respect, even from veteran warriors.

She-wolves constantly throw themselves at him. But Asher has always been steadfast. He believes in the mate bond above all else.

My brother is impossibly handsome. He’s also my closest friend. He is the future Alpha of the Shadow Ridge Pack. Born to lead.

Then there’s me. The middle child.

My skin is the color of honey. My eyes are a warm amber, identical to the shade of our father’s wolf form.

I’m in peak physical condition. I’ve had secret training sessions with Alpha Dad for years. The Moon Goddess told my parents my wolf would be… extraordinary.

But no one knows what’s hidden beneath these baggy clothes I use as armor. I refuse to let anyone see my true form.

I also wear thick-framed glasses. So, at the academy, I’m known as “ugly,” “chubby,” and “four-eyes.” If only they knew the truth.

Finally, there’s my sister, Scarlett. I’m already rolling my eyes.

She was blessed with rich mocha skin, deep chocolate-brown eyes, and a cascade of auburn hair that falls to her waist.

Scarlett is undeniably gorgeous. She’s also the pack’s most notorious attention-seeker. She’s perpetually chasing after the future Alpha of the neighboring Midnight Fang Pack.

Our packs share Thornfield Academy. Their own school was destroyed in a rogue attack.

We finally made it downstairs to the kitchen. Asher was dressed in fitted dark jeans, a charcoal V-neck that showcased his Alpha physique, and expensive designer boots.

Even though Colorado was in the middle of a heatwave, I was bundled in an oversized hoodie and baggy joggers, paired with my most comfortable sneakers.

Of course, Scarlett was wearing a skirt that was far too short, a tight, low-cut top, and designer heels with a five-inch heel.

Now, it was time for the academy. I hated going. But it was our final year. And I maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA.

“Mom, Dad, I don’t want to ride with Aurora. She’s so embarrassing,” my sister whined.
