Summary "Maybe you'll find your mate" my mother tried to encourage. I scoffed and shook my head in disbelief. I was supposed to find my mate when I turned sixteen but I didn't find him. I wasn't really frustrated by the fact that I didn't find my mate. I was quite happy in fact. "I hope not" I mumbled, making my mother laugh. She just knew how much I loved my freedom and my freewill. "let's go downstairs" My mother said. I told her to go while I put on a think line of eyeliner. I put on my high heels, trying not to fall down. "Ava!" my mother called from downstairs. "Coming!" I took my handbag, then made my way to the kitchen, where I saw my parents and Erik standing there scowling. James, my beta was stuffing his mouth with food as if he hasn't when food for days. "What's wrong?" I questioned as I walked closer to my brother. "Alpha Johnson is sending his son Roman to the meeting" he said grimly. The Alpha Johnson is the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. He recently passed down the title
"Why do I need to go?" I groaned as I stood in front of the mirror, inspecting the silky black dress which stuck to my skin like glue.
"Because this is an Alpha Meeting" my father, the current Alpha of the Black Moon Pack said. I turned to look at him and my mother. They were both sitting on the bed.
"I'm not the Alpha of the pack, dad" I deadpanned. He sighed in exhaustion. "Erik will be the future Alpha" I explained.
"Listen, Erik wants you to come together with him so that you know what is going on around the other packs" my mother told me with her soothing voice.
"Can't I ditch?" I asked, staring at my parents with hope.
"We're not giving you the choice, Avanessa" my father said with finality in his tone. I groaned and turned to look at the mirror again.
"Fine, but at least tell me what I'm suppose to be doing there" I exclaimed while applying the red lipstick that my best friend Emily gave me for my eighteen birthday last month.
"You're suppose to talk to the Alphas. You're suppose to make new allies who will strengthen the pack" my father explained as he walked to the door. "Now I'm going to tell your brother that you're going with him before you change your mind again" he snickered before walking out of my room. I laughed as my father's words. He knew me well. My mother stood up and walked next to me. I stared at the two of us in the mirror, a smile quickly forming on my face. We both had the same physical features. We both had long black hair and piercing green eyes.

"Alpha Johnson is sending his son Roman to the meeting" he said grimly. The Alpha Johnson is the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. He recently passed down the title to his twenty years old son who was known for being ruthless and cruel.
"How is it wrong?" I asked. I knew that our two packs are the strongest of the continent. This is why there was always rivalry between us.
"We were suppose to discuss about the Silver Crest land" Erik mentioned and i nodded. The Silver Crest Pack was ravaged the rogues recently and one of the packs had to take over the land. "And Roman Johnson is the king of dicks" my brother grumbled. Soon I saw a hand flying to my brother's head and a smacking sound was heard.
"Language!" my mother scolded. James burst out laughing at this scene and soon, he got a slap from my mother too."
"Don't laugh and eat at the same time, you're going to choke" my mother scolded. Erik and I laughed when James nodded with an innocent look of his face. Erik then looked at his watch and sighed.
"We need to go" he announced. James and I nodded and we left the house, my parents following us to the porch.
"Ava, please be on your best behavior" my father pleaded as I stepped on foot in the car.
"you're saying that only to me?" I questioned motioning to the other two guys in the car.
"Let's just say that you tend to lose your anger quickly" my mother said with a little tact.
"I don't" I denied in shock. My brother rolled his lips in his mouth, sucking on his teeth before opening his mouth.
"You do" he deadpanned causing me to glare at him. James was in the backseat, laughing at my facial expression. Erik started driving and I leant my head on the window.
"Who do you think I should avoid?" I asked with a sigh.
"Alpha Darren" my brother said quickly.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because according to him, female Alphas are weak and are not supposed to come to the meetings" James explained.
"He's an asshole" I concluded and both nodded in agreement.
"He is. But keep your thoughts to yourself" Erik said seriously. I nodded knowing that I shouldn't argue with my brother right now.
After thirty long minutes of drive, we soon reach the place where the meeting was held. My eyes widened at the tall building standing in front of me. We got out of the car and we walked in a fancy hall. There were so many beautiful people that we would think that we were in meeting for models.
"You go to Alphas while I go to meet Alpha Roman" Erik said. James and I nodded before we go in different directions. I decided to stick with James as I knew at least that he wouldn't be reminding me constantly to behave.
"Hey man! You finally found your mate?" someone questioned. James and I shook our head frantically as we approached the group of people.
"No, that's my Alpha Avanessa" James introduced. I smiled at the strangers and waited for them to introduce themselves.
"I'm Alpha Zander and that's my mate Jess" he said as he motioned to the petite woman standing next to him.
"I'm his beta Jake" the beta said.
"I'm the beta of the Alpha Roman, Zack" a blond guy said. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. He was probably thinking that I would glare at him or look at him in disgust.
"I'm not really the Alpha but my brother is" I told them with a little smile.
"You're the daughter of the Alpha Lesnar, so it makes you an Alpha as well" Beta Jake told me with a grin. I playfully glared at him. Minutes later, my brother and two other men walked to us. I noticed the sullen face of my brother so I nudged him slightly.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"Alpha Roman didn't come" he answered while glaring at Zack. I shrugged.
"Then the land become ours" I said with confidence. "I mean if Alpha Lazy ass wanted the land, he should have come" I concluded. I turned too see Zack glaring at me. Oh yes. I just insulted his Alpha. "No offense meant!" I exclaimed, making my brother rolled his eyes and the other Alphas laugh except one.
"He didn't come, but he did send me" Zack told us, trying to negotiate. Erik shook his head, while glaring at Zack.
"This discussion concerns only Alphas, not betas" Alpha Zander explained. Erik and I nodded our heads to agree with his statement.
"Tell your Alpha to come to our pack tomorrow" I told Zack with power in my voice. He slightly bowed and nodded to my demand.
"You're the future Alpha of the Black Moon Pack, right?" The Alpha who didn't laugh, asked my brother with narrowed eyes. Erik nodded while staring at the Alpha in confusion. "Then why is she talking?" he demanded with abomination. It was as if it was a shock that I was giving my opinion.
"Alpha Darren, I presume?" I asked with a wicked grin. He nodded, holding his head high as if showing pride. "Well Alpha Darren, if I want to voice out opinion, I will" I snapped, my wolf threatening to rise. A hand wrapped itself around my arm and I was slightly pulled back. I haven't even realized that I took steps forward. The other Alphas were watching us in shock.
"Who do you think you Are? You're not an Alpha, you shouldn't even be here" Alpha Darren sneered in anger.
"She may not be the future Alpha but she is still the daughter of one and she has the blood running in the veins" Erik snapped. He tended to get really protective over me. I ignored the Alpha Darren and turned to look at Zack.
"If your Alpha wants that land, tell him to come to the Black Moon Pack tomorrow or else the land will be ours, get it?" I asked with determined eyes. He nodded and bowed before walking away.
"Next time you respect me, mutt!" I heard someone snap from next to me. I huffed in annoyance. Anger was not radiating from my body and I could feel my wolf already howling to attack him. I hated to be challenged.
"Or what?" I dared to ask. "I'm an Alpha too, you want respect, then learn to respect back!" I growled in anger. "If you want my packs support whenever there is rogue attack, you need to learn to respect us!" I snapped. "Or else, you can look for other allies" I ended. I knew that his pack depended greatly on mine. He growled before walking away, his beta walking behind me.
"We need to get home now" Erik sighed. I turned to smile at Alpha Zander and his mate. I tried to calm down my wolf and took a deep breath.
"It was nice to meet you" I told then as I shook the men's hand and hug Jess.
"Likewise" Jess told me with a big smile. "You're quite an entertainment" she commented, making me laugh. With that, I waved them goodbye before walking out of the hall with my brother and James following behind.
"I don't have a short temper!" Erik shouted in a fake girly voice. James burst out laughing as they stepped in the car.
"I don't have a short temper!" I agreed when I suddenly realized that he was imitating me. "And I do not sound like this!" I exclaimed in disbelief. Erik and James laughed making me huff.
