In the seventh year of our marriage, my husband made a grand announcement on social media with his junior colleague: "With you by my side, I have no regrets in this life!" I casually liked the post. The announcement vanished instantly. He video-called me, comforting the sobbing junior while berating me in front of their friends. He called me petty. He said I was an embarrassment. After hanging up, the junior sent me a photo. In it, my husband held her tightly. Both wore blissful smiles. In the past, I would have erupted. I would have unleashed chaos until everyone deemed me unreasonable. This time, I simply let go.

Liam Anderson came home in high spirits just as I was dumping the untouched meal into the trash.
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary.
He told me celebrating with just the two of us was boring and suggested inviting some friends over.
I specifically took a day off from work.
I bought groceries, cleaned the house, decorated the living room, and cooked.
But I waited all night, and no one showed up. Not even my husband, Liam Anderson.
Scrolling through my phone, I saw a post on Chloe Evans's Facebook. That's how I found out my husband had gone to celebrate Chloe's birthday.
The ridiculous part is, Chloe just had a birthday last month.
In the photo, cream was smeared on Chloe's nose. Her cheek was being pinched by a hand wearing a wedding ring identical to mine.
The caption read: "Someone says they'll celebrate my birthday on the 18th of every month. It's so nice to be spoiled!"
"You cooked the steak?"
Liam glanced at the steak in the trash. He shook his head and sighed when I nodded.
"If you can't cook well, don't waste ingredients."
In the past, I would have accused him of abandoning me to celebrate Chloe's birthday.
Now, I didn't have the energy for that. I still had to clean up and throw away all the things I prepared last night.
Surprisingly, Liam stopped me. He pointed to a takeout container nearby.
"Nora, I brought you some cake."
"Oh."
I love food. Liam always tries to appease me with treats when I'm upset.
If I eat it, he assumes we've made up.
I looked at the cake. I'd never seen a birthday cake packaged in a takeout box before.
It was clearly leftovers from Chloe's party last night.
"Eat first. I'm going to take a shower."
Watching him head cheerfully to the bathroom, I bent down to continue cleaning.
I picked up scissors to cut the flowers on the table when Liam's phone lit up.
At some point, he started putting his phone on silent the moment he got home.
I accidentally glanced at the screen. It was a WhatsApp message from Chloe.
«Liam, you were so bad last night. My back still hurts~»
"Nora, I knew you were always trying to snoop on my phone!"
Liam shoved me angrily and snatched his phone.
The scissors in my hand accidentally stabbed my palm. Blood instantly welled up.
Liam looked at me impatiently, as if I were a huge burden.
Finally, he said reluctantly, "So stupid. Let's go to the hospital."
I didn't refuse. The cut was deep and painful.
In the car, I saw traces of Chloe everywhere in the vehicle Liam and I had chosen together.
Two small dolls were stuck on the dashboard, a boy and a girl kissing mouth-to-mouth. Their names were engraved on them.
Liam Anderson and Chloe Evans.
A flicker of embarrassment crossed Liam's eyes.
"Chloe thought my car was too empty. She just gave me a random doll."
I pressed the gauze to my palm, calm. "Yeah, it's nice."
When we first bought the car, I bought a small doll to put on the passenger side dashboard. He threw it away immediately.
He said those things were flashy and impractical, and they would block the driving view.
Seeing I wasn't making a scene, Liam looked at me strangely.
"You're not angry?"
Confusion flashed in my eyes.
