"Evelyn, why are you frozen there? My legs are broken! Get me to the hospital where Isabella works!"
Benjamin Carter's sharp command snapped me back to reality. I stood in the living room while he lay crumpled on the floor, having fallen from the third story.
Despite the agony of two shattered legs, he managed to glare at me with pure hatred.
"Evelyn, if you dare take me to some local hospital again and cost me Isabella, I swear you'll pay more dearly than you did last time!"
