About this book

"Eden didn't know her twin stepbrothers, Elliot and Zane very well. Growing up together since she was ten, the older boys relentlessly teased her, finally leaving home to join the Army when she was seventeen. When Eden was nineteen, the twins returned home completely different from the boys they'd been when they left home. They ignored Eden after returning, most of the time not noticing when she was in the room. On a drunken night out, Eden forgot her key to get back into the house and decided to knock on Elliot's window to get back inside. She expected him to be angry because she woke him...she knew he'd laugh because she was caught sneaking out. But what she didn't know was how her brother felt about her. An innocent mistake leads to a night of discovery about herself and her stepbrother. Will Eden be able to resist her stepbrother? Will Elliot be able to show Eden all the things she'd been missing by not having him in her life?"

Chapter 1

Tapping on my stepbrother, Elliot's, window I balanced myself on a tree branch attempting to climb back into my house. I'd snuck out to a party after my mom went to bed, but made the fatal mistake of forgetting to bring my key. Stumbling home after a night of drinking, I tried the front door to find that I was locked outside.

It took me a good five minutes to climb the tree, and all I had to show for it was two scratches and a developing bruise. Elliot's bedroom light was off, but that didn't matter because I knew he was a light sleeper.

I tapped a little harder this time, whispering at a volume that wasn't exactly quiet. "Elliot! Psst. Hey." A couple more taps. "Elliot, wake up."

My twin stepbrothers were home after doing two years in the military. It was weird having them home. When we were younger, we always fought about everything. The twins would team up on me and they always won. But, now it felt like they didn't even notice I was in the room. I liked not being picked on, but it sucked to not be seen or acknowledged.

A shadow blocked the inside of the window and I breathed out a sigh of relief. The old wood frame creaked and groaned as Elliot lifted the panel.

Sticking his head out, he glared at me with his silver-blue eyes. "What the hell, Eden? It's three in the morning."

"I'm locked out of the house, just move over so I can climb in." My words were slurred and I think I may have swayed a bit while crouching on the branch.

"Are you drunk? Get your ass in here!" He reached out with a thick, strong arm - courtesy of the military - and pulled me into his bedroom like I weighed nothing. Slamming against his floor, I yelped when my shoulder dragged over the carpet.

He stood over me in nothing but a pair of dark grey pajama pants, his posture reminding me of a drill sergeant. "What the hell do you think you're doing out at three in the morning? You're not even old to enough to drink."

Thankfully, he whisper-yelled at me andI didn't have to worry about my mom waking up. I wasn't in the mood to hear her wrath on top of his.

Rubbing at my shoulder, I winced to feel where the top layer of skin had been burned away from my impact with the floor. The son of a bitch was stronger than he realized.

Looking up at him, I spit out, " Sorry, but what do you care? You and Zane haven't been around in two years. And from what I remember, you were doing worse than this when you were younger than me. So fuck off."

He crouched down and grabbed me by my shirt, his face inches from mine. With narrowed eyes and a scowl that would have scared any normal person, he smiled - the expression creepy because I knew the grin didn't mean he was happy.

"You're only nineteen. Stop going around thinking you can do whatever the hell you want."

"Who the hell is going to stop me? I'm an adult."
