About this book

I thought our Route 66 trip would save my marriage. Instead, my husband hired a seductive stranger to trap me in infidelity. But when the blackmail began, I uncovered his own affair... and the 'stranger' was my secret college crush plotting revenge. Now it's my turn to shatter him."

Chapter 1

Thanksgiving break was supposed to be our romantic reset. When my husband Chase suggested teaming up with another RV-owning couple for a Route 66 adventure, I bit my lip and agreed. "New scenery, new... possibilities," he'd whispered, that familiar glint in his eye.

By sundown, our little group was clustered outside the massive RV, laughter bouncing off the asphalt as trucks roared past. But inside? That's where things got complicated.

Jared—the other husband—had me cornered. His palm pressed against my collarbone as the unmistakable sounds of Chase and Lillian's... enthusiasm... filtered through the thin partition. Hot breath hit my ear as his other hand slid lower. "Your man started playing dirty," he growled. "Guess that means I get to collect, sweetheart."

Chase had sold me on this trip with sunset-drenched photos of the Pacific Coast Highway. "Just us, the open road, and zero rules," he'd said, thumb swiping across his phone screen with that boyish grin I'd fallen for. The landscapes should've stolen my breath. Instead, all I could picture was my husband's hands on me beneath a star-strewn sky, the thrill of being watched by strangers—

God, we needed this.

Three years of marriage had sanded down our spark to comfortable embers. When Chase found Jared and Lillian on some swingers' forum ("They're married too, Bee—no awkward strings!"), part of me recoiled. The other part? That part got damp just thinking about it.

Our meetup spot reeked of poor decisions from the jump. Their hulking RV was parked crookedly at the rest stop, rocking like a boat in a storm. No engine rumble. No seismic activity. Just... rhythmic creaking.

Chase's grip on my waist turned possessive. "They're not wasting time," he murmured, steering me behind the vehicle. His teeth scraped my neck as my back hit the metal siding. The danger of public exposure sent lightning through my veins—until movement caught my eye.

The RV's tinted window. A silhouette. Watching.

I squirmed, but Chase pinned me harder, too far gone to care. Shame and desire twisted together as Jared's shadow leaned closer. My skirt was bunched around my hips when a semi's horn blasted nearby. Chase swore, yanking my dress down as headlights swept over us.

By the time the RV finally stilled, my knuckles barely grazed the door before it flew open.

Holy shit.
