About this book

My best friend insisted on testing my fiancé's loyalty with a fake account. I agreed, but gave her my fake instead. Imagine my horror when she used it not to seduce him, but to viciously slander me and steal him away. Now, it's time to turn the tables and give her a taste of her own medicine.

Chapter 1

After my boyfriend proposed, my best friend Mia Lowell seemed off.

Maybe she was worried I'd get hurt?

But Liam isn't just tall and handsome—he's got a great career, comes from a good family, and is completely devoted to me. There's literally nothing to complain about.

Or maybe she was afraid that after marriage, I wouldn't have as much time for her?

I even tried comforting her. "Liam loves traveling with me, but don't worry—I'll bring you back souvenirs from everywhere we go."

Somehow, that only made her angrier.

No matter how much I tried to smooth things over, nothing worked. Finally, I got impatient and asked her what was really going on.

Mia and I have been tight since elementary school.

She's been there for pretty much every big moment in my life. I didn't want her holding back any doubts about my marriage or my fiancé.

She hesitated, fidgeting before finally saying, "Olivia, I'm just not totally sure about Liam. Don't you think getting married is a little… rushed?"

My stomach dropped. Did Liam do something to hurt me?

Seeing my face, she backtracked fast. "It's just a normal concern, you know? I mean, what guy can really resist temptation? Especially someone like Liam—good-looking, successful. Girls are always throwing themselves at him. Why is he so fixated on you? I mean, you're… nice."

I frowned. Was she saying I wasn't good enough for him?

Mia rushed to clarify, "All I'm saying is marriage is forever. You should be 100% sure about his character before saying yes."

"What if he shows his true colors after you're married—cheating, abuse? Your whole life could be ruined."

Hesitantly, I asked, "So what do you think I should do?"

Her eyes lit up. She grabbed my hand. "Give me his info. I'll make a fake account and test him. If he resists, then you'll know he's solid. Only then will I feel okay about you marrying him."

I felt uneasy right away. This felt sneaky—and totally unfair to Liam.

But Mia kept pushing. I told her I needed time to think.

That night, I decided to be straight with Liam. Marriage is built on honesty, right? Better to talk things out than play games.

I nervously explained everything, expecting him to be mad. Instead, he just laughed and ruffled my hair.

"Are you sure she's your best friend? Sounds more like a jealous girl trying to steal your man. Her motives are so obvious—what a snake."

I pushed his hand away, annoyed. "We've been friends since we were kids. You really think she'd betray me over a guy?"
